MTN Nigeria, on Thursday enlightened Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs), Brand and Marketing executives on the benefits of digital advertising as cost effective and wider reach.

The Senior Manager, Campaign Management, Mr Eyitayo Amusan, said at the first edition of the Mobile-Ads Fusion Forum that businesses should be able to have good results of their advertising.

Amusan said that this last quarter of the year was meant to be a crucial period where businesses would be planning their different advertising strategies to be able to talk to their customers.

He said that strategies to be able to talk to their customers through the right channels and then ensure that they get the expected response and conversions.

‘’As we go to the festive period, MTN is thinking this is a very crucial period that businesses need to also consider some available products or services to have good results from all your  campaigns or your advertisements that you do, most especially in the digital space.

‘’In spite of the fact that you always think there are different strategies to handle your adverts and how you talk to your customers with your different products, you also need to be able to leverage on the local  advantage in place,’’ he said.

According to him, it is not just a MTN Nigerian thing, it is a global thing whereby one begins to leverage on what we have.

Amusan said that security measures were in place to ensure that ads on MTN platform were not bots.

He said that MTN had put so many platforms in place for security to ensure that they were real links as against weak links or bot links that could impact advertisers.

The Chief Digital Officer, MTN Nigeria, Aisha Mumuni, while explaining the opportunities of digital services and mobile advertisements, said that there were about 200 million subscribers in Nigeria.

She said that MTN had 77 million; its smart phone penetration was as high as 53 per cent and big data users today were as high as three billion, saying that this could be the reach of digital mobile advertisements.

She said that the reach could be wider, leveraging on AYOBA platform, a product of MTN, that one could speak to in many different ways.

Also speaking at the event, the General Manager, Business Enterprise, Mr Charles Okonkwo, said that the Forum was to bring customers together to discuss existing portfolios helping businesses to get customers.

Okonkwo stressed the need to get to customers at the right time, at the right place and to the target audience.
