ASHENEWS reports that the Kano State Police Command says it has arrested a 21-year-old suspect in possession of 106 stolen phones.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday.
Kiyawa said that the arrest of the suspect, identified as Ibrahim Adamu followed reports of alleged burglary filed by the coordinators of Dansulaika GSM Market, Farm Center, in Kano on Sunday.
The statement said that the suspect broke into 11 shops through the ceilings and stole away items ranging from electronic devices and money.
“A sustained intelligence-led operation was launched that led to the arrest of one Ibrahim Adamu, ’m’, of Sallari Quarters, Tarauni LGA, Kano.
“The suspect confessed to the Police that he singlehandedly committed the offense and led them to the recovery of the One Hundred and Six (106) Mobile Phones, Nine (9) Laptops Computers, Sales Money Sum of One Hundred and Fifteen Thousand Nine Hundred and Forty Naira (N115,940:00), Nine (9) ATM cards, and other accessories,” the statement said.
Kiyawa disclosed that the suspect will be charged in court upon completion of the ongoing investigation.
