ASHENEWS reports that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has lifted the visa ban placed on Nigerian travelers.
Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on media and publicity stated this in a statement issued on Monday.
According to the statement, the UAE concluded after a meeting between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on Monday in Abu Dhabi.
“As negotiated between the two Heads of State, this immediate restoration of flight activity, through these two airlines and between the two countries, does not involve any immediate payment by the Nigerian government.

The statement said that the two parties have agreed on a framework that will involve several billions of U.S. dollars worth of new investments into the Nigerian economy across multiple sectors, including defense, agriculture, and others, by the investment arms of the Government of the United Arab Emirates.
The statement equally announced that President Tinubu has negotiated a joint, new foreign exchange liquidity program, the details of which will be announced in the coming weeks.
The statement further restated President Tinubu’s commitment to normalize and reset to excellence, the standard of relations between the two important countries.
