ASHENEWS reports that the National Union of Zamfara State Students (NUZAMS) has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing former state governor Bello Muhammad as Minister.

The union’s national chairman of the NUZAMS caretaker committee, Muhammad Bashir Kanta, gave the commendation while addressing a press conference in Gusau, the Zamfara state capital, on Sunday.

According to Kanta, “the nomination of Bello Mohammed did not come to us as a surprise because of his competence and pedigree, vast experience in both human and capital development, and uptake of his quest towards attaining food security, fight against insecurity, youth involvement in politics, and high stewardship toward nation building.”

NUZAMS added that “his time as the Executive Governor of Zamfara State was remarkable, and the people of Zamfara will live to remember his welfare and support programmes for the vulnerable and less privileged people of the state. His passion for self-dependence and skills-based empowerment was second to none.

“His Excellency (Dr.) Bello Matawalle is an accomplished administrator, a consummate leader, a father, a mentor, a bulldozer, a facilitator of peace, excellence, and progress, a visionary and charismatic leader, an entire library of success, a leader of the people by the people and for the preservation of the people, and a leader with listening ears. He is indeed, blessed with greatness, and he has been well-trained to be courageous, zealous, and highly-determined to stand the challenges of time,” Kanta further stated.

Read the press statement below:

We must start by thanking the ruling party of the day, the APC, for making the right decision of bringing BAT as its flag bearer and winner of the February 2023 General Election, which is a decision that we will live to appreciate for many years to come. At this current political science dispensation, President BAT is the best thing that ever happened to Nigeria. Therefore, we must begin to appreciate the party that all Nigerian youth and students have endorsed and voted for.

The nomination of His Excellency (Dr.) Bello Mohammed Matawalle did not come to us as a surprise because of his competence and pedigree, vast experience in both human and capital development, and uptake of his quest towards attaining food security, fighting against insecurity, youth involvement in politics, and high stewardship toward nation building.

His time as the Executive Governor of Zamfara State was so remarkable that the people of Zamfara will live to remember his welfare and support programmes for the vulnerable and less privileged people of the state. His passion for self-dependence and skills-based empowerment was second to none.

His service to Zamfara state was full of miracles as a student-friendly governor. His major priority was to increase educational standard of the people of the state to meet up with the demands of a new age through free education delivery from primary to secondary and to tertiary level, with a meaningful and reasonable token of scholarship.

His Excellency (Dr.) Bello Matawalle is an accomplished administrator, a consummate leader, a father, a mentor, a bulldozer, a facilitator of peace, excellence and progress, a visionary and charismatic leader, an entire library of success, a leader of the people by the people and for the preservation people, and a leader with listening ears. He is indeed, blessed with greatness and he has been well-trained to be courageous, zealous, and highly-determined to stand the challenges of time.

Matawalle is always transparent, focused, honest, and charity-driven, with a high sense of integrity. We must especially recognize the fact that Matawalle achieved this height because he is a teacher, administrator, and astute politician by profession. In addition, Matawalle is an icon of hope and a source of pride for our generation. To all of us, Matawalle is a symbol of honesty, transparency, and accountability in management, as he always detests, condemns, and fights corruption in all its ramifications.

We must make it clear that we have accepted this nomination as it is in the best interest of the good people of Zamfara and we shall forever remain grateful to President BAT for this heart-warming decision. The entire students from Zamfara across the Nation and in the diaspora see (Dr.) Bello Matawalle as a transformation agent, and a model who has the intention to make life better for the people he leads.

Lastly, ladies and gentlemen, members of the press. The entire over 250 thousand armless and harmless combatant battalions of NUZAMS students wish to submit our warm appreciation to His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the honor bestowed upon our hero and a life-saver. It is indeed a wise decision that Your Excellency Mr. President chose the best mind from Zamfara state to assist in delivering a quality an effective leadership to Nigerians.
