The Nigerian troops of Operation Hadarin Daji, have rescued 22 persons abducted by bandits in Zamfara state.
The victims gained freedom on Wednesday, after the troops of Sector 1, Team 3 Magami deployed at FOB Dansadau, engaged the terrorists in a fierce gun battle.
According to intelligence sources, who spoke with Zagazola Makama, a Counter Insurgency Expert and Security Analyst in the Lake Chad Region, that the troops, led by the commanding officer of the battalion, stalked and swooped on the bandits, annihilating some of them in a ferocious firefight that ensued.
The abductees comprising 16 males and 4 females were rescued from bandits and taken to Dansadau for further action.
In a separate encounter, the troops of Sect 1 Team 10 deployed at FOB Wasagu intercepted two locals who escaped from bandits enclave in Birnin Gwari Forest Kaduna State after spending 14 days in captivity.

Additionally, the troops of Forward Operating Base in Anka, naturalized two bandit terrorists and recovered their weapons during a fighting patrol along Makakari village in Gwashi District in Bukuyyum LGA of Zamfara State.
In Kwatarkwashi, the troops thwarted an abduction attempt in the community after responding to a distress call that bandits stormed one Comrade Nura’s residence at Kwatarkwashi District in Bungudu LGA of Zamfara State.
However, bandits fled before troops arrived. The troops combed the surrounding high ground between Tazame and Kwatarkwashi but no contact was made.
