ASHENEWS reports that the Kebbi state governor, Nasir Idris has described his deputy, Umar Abubakar as trustworthy, and hardworking.
This online platform further reports the Governor made the remark at a grand reception organized by Sultan Abubakar College Sokoto Old Boys Association (SACOBA) in honour of the Deputy Governor on Tuesday.
Represented by the State Head of Service, Sufiyanu Garba Bena, the governor also said Abubakar “as a man of integrity and dedication” would make the state government to deliver well for the people of the state.
Idris congratulated the celebrant and commended the association for organizing the historic event.
The representative of the Emir of Gwandu, Magajin Garin Gwandu, Aminullahi Umar, who was also a classmate of the deputy governor, said he graduated in year 1979 with Abubakar, while describing him as humble, honest and dedicated.
Earlier, the Chairman of the occasion, Malami Abdulkadir congratulated the Deputy Governor for the honor, explaining that the reception was a clear evidence to debunk the rumour and allegation that Senator Umar did not complete his secondary School.
In their separate remarks, the Chairman of the Association, Ahmed Adamu Jega; the former Speaker of Sokoto State, Aliyu Abubakar Tureta; Professor Suleman Khalid Jega, Engineer Sani Umar among others described Abubakar as gentle, a mentor and great talent.
Responding the Deputy Governor, said he was honored and overwhelmed for the show of love, and expressed gratitude to the organizers of the event.
Abubakar said the event, which was attended by a mammoth crowd served as an avenue to strengthen the bond of relationship among members of SACOBA.
Members of the association from Sokoto, Zamfara and Kebbi States graced the occasion.
