A group of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has described remarks by the party’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Yekini Nabena against the Niger state governor, Abubakar Sani-Bello as indecent, insane and disrespectful.
Nabena had, in a recent press statement warned Sani-Bello to stop plans to call for a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the party
However, a statement by the Publicity Secretary of APC Progressive Elements, Abdulrazak Yusuf and made available to ASHENEWS on Monday condemned Nabena, adding that the remarks were callous, uncouth, unacceptable and must be retracted.
The statement described Nabena “as one of the active agents of distabilization commissioned to cause disaffection and rancour within the APC to achieve a dubious political agenda.”
The group warned that the underhand dealings by Nabena and his collaborators must be investigated, exposed, checkmated by the party leadership before it is too late.
“We at APC-PE have found it necessary to respond to the recent reported vituperation aimed at the person of the Governor of Niger State by Nabena who was acting the dirty script of some gang of disgruntled elements sponsored by detractors to distract the APC from focusing on winning the coming round of fresh elections in the country.
“Nabena acting as a front with one other person working with the sacked leadership have been the courier agents of the nefarious acts of collecting from under the table in acts detrimental and undermining to the party in collaboration with some moneybags in the opposition.
“This man, Nabena has deliberately courted unnecessary controversies since his controversial ascension to that position to serve the interest of some internal and external collaborators conspiring to distabilize the APC to achieve a dubious political agenda,” the Group said.
APC-PE warned that Nabena must be made to withdraw such callous, utterances against the governor and to apologize for his indecencies failing which they will be left with no option than to expose his clandestine activities and conspiracy against the party.
