The International Society for Tropical Root Crops (ISTRC), has announced that its 19th International Triennial Symposium will hold between November 21 and 25, 2022.
This is contained in a statement by the president, Professor Sanni Lateef made available to ASHENEWS on Monday.
According to him, the symposium will be co-hosted by the African Agricultural Technology Foundation, AATF and the government of Kenya.
“We are pleased to announce that the 19th International Triennial Symposium of the International Society for Tropical Root Crops (ISTRC) will be held in Nairobi, Kenya, from 21st to 25th November 2022.
“The symposium will be co-hosted by AATF (https://www.aatf-africa.org/) and the Government of Kenya.
“The ISTRC is delighted to collaborate with the AATF and the Government of Kenya to deliver a successful symposium.
“Kenya is a key global hub for root and tuber crops. Nairobi is a vibrant city known as the safari capital of Africa. It is an energetic, modern city that serves as a first-rate introduction to both wildlife and nightlife. Music clubs, shops and markets bustle along with a plethora of restaurants.
“The ISTRC symposia are recognized globally as platforms that bring together key stakeholders at national and international levels to foster, stimulate and support the improvement of tropical root crop production and utilization.
“The 2022 19th ISTRC Symposium will be an excellent opportunity for those interested in root and tuber crops from around the world especially Sub-Saharan Africa, to showcase their expertise and share and compare knowledge on how they can contribute to transforming the global agri-food systems,” the statement reads.
