Following Tuesday’s victory of the House of Representatives member, Ibrahim Sharada and others at the Federal High Court, Abuja, which annulled the ward congresses of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano state, governor Abdullahi Ganduje on Wednesday, sealed a six-storey building housing offices, including that of Barrister Nuraini Jimoh SAN, counsel to Sharada.
A team from the Kano Internal Revenue Service, who reportedly acted on the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Lands Zainab Buraji’s orders, were reported to have presented a bill of over N3 billion unpaid ground rents.
However, when newsmen visited the scene, Buraji had dispatched a team of officers in a Hilux vehicle with registration number KIRS 62, led by one Hassan Idris to unseal the building.
Speaking with journalists, Idris said the order to unseal the building was from the permanent secretary.
“It is a directive from the Permanent Secretary to open the place”.
The spokesperson of Kano Police Command, DSP Abdullahi Kiyawa said he was at the venue to ascertain the involvement or not of Police personnel.
