The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), University Advancement Centre (UAC) is organising a Workshop on Educational Advancement Services (WEAS) for all Higher Education Institutions.

A statement by the spokesperson of the institution, Adegbenro Adebanjo on Saturday said, “The workshop will hold on Wednesday, 15th and Thursday, 16th September, 2021 in FUTA with seasoned resource persons billed to take participants through new trends in University Advancement Services.

“The workshop would be facilitated by vast experienced personnels, who have excelled in advancement services operations, in Europe, America and Nigeria.

“The workshop is to equip newly employed/deployed/appointed staff supervising and/or working in Advancement/Development Office/Centre with updated knowledge and skills, in their fundraising performance, alumni relations activities and collaborations and partnerships with corporate donors and individual philanthropists.

“This Workshop would help to resuscitate the moribund Advancement Office/Centre and revive the dead ones.

“The Workshop is a strategic training for the Chief Executives, principal officers, both academic and administrative staff to mobilise teaching, research and infrastructural facilities to an institution, with self-sustaining programmes.

“This is to contribute to finances of the Institution, in addition to efforts of the Founding fathers or Proprietors.

“The workshop fee is N10,000 for per participant while a discount of 10% is accrued to participants and above.

“All higher education institutions in Nigeria and Africa have been reached for nomination of their participants. There are limited spaces for registration. It would be based on first come, first served.

“Interested private, state and federal institutions are advised to visit FUTA’s website or www.uac.futa.edu.ng for Registration as limited spaces are still available,” the statement reads.
