Former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has praised Dadin Kowa Pharmacy in Sokoto for offering free delivery of medicines to customers across the state, describing the initiative as a practical response to the rising cost of living.
Tambuwal gave the commendation on Sunday while unveiling the pharmacy, established by Usman Idris, an Islamic scholar, entrepreneur and African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for Sokoto South Constituency I in the Sokoto State House of Assembly.
He said the service demonstrated how private businesses could support community welfare and ease the burden on citizens struggling with the rising cost of essential goods and services.
“I commend Sheikh Idris for this investment in community welfare, particularly his decision to provide free delivery of medicines purchased from the pharmacy to customers anywhere within Sokoto State. This thoughtful initiative will help ease the burden on those who need these essential medicines.
“At a time when many Nigerians are struggling with the high cost of living, such practical interventions deserve our encouragement and support. Those of us with the capacity to make a difference must continue to find ways to support our communities and assist the less privileged,” Tambuwal said.
The senator representing Sokoto South urged other entrepreneurs and individuals with the means to support their communities to emulate the initiative, stressing the importance of practical interventions that improve people’s welfare.
He noted that rising living costs had made access to essential goods increasingly difficult for many Nigerians, making community-driven support initiatives particularly valuable.
