The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has clarified that candidates who previously uploaded their O’Level results on its platform are not required to re-upload the results or obtain a verification code under the new verification system.
The clarification followed numerous complaints and inquiries from candidates who uploaded their results during the current registration exercise, after the release of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) results, or in previous years under the old upload process.
In a statement signed by JAMB’s Acting Director, Public Affairs and Protocols, Fabian Benjamin, Ph.D., the Board said all O’Level results uploaded through the previous process remain valid and will continue to be recognised on its platform.
The Board said candidates in this category should therefore not panic or take any further action regarding the newly introduced verification code.
According to JAMB, the new verification process is aimed at strengthening the integrity of O’Level results and preventing the acceptance of falsified results in the admission process.
It explained that results uploaded under the previous system would remain available on its portal and, where necessary, would be subjected to the appropriate verification process by the respective institutions.
“Candidates are therefore advised not to panic or make unnecessary repeat uploads of their O’Level results simply because they were uploaded before the introduction of the new verification arrangement,” the Board said.
JAMB assured affected candidates that their previously uploaded results would remain valid and available for consideration during the admission process, subject to the required verification by their respective institutions.
The Board urged candidates to rely on official information and avoid taking unnecessary steps that could arise from misinformation about the new O’Level verification arrangement.
