The Sokoto State Ministry of Lands, Housing, Survey and Town Planning paid a sympathy visit to the site of the collapsed building along Bauchi Road, Sokoto.
The Honourable Commissioner for Lands, Housing, Survey and Town Planning, Barr. Nasir Aliyu Dantsoho, expressed his sympathy to the owner of the plaza over the unfortunate incident and prayed for strength and better days ahead.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Engr. Ahmad Moyi Tambuwal, the Commissioner urged residents of Sokoto State to always obtain the necessary building approvals from the Ministry and relevant government agencies before commencing any construction project. He emphasised that securing the required permits is essential to ensure compliance with building regulations and to safeguard lives and property.

He further disclosed that the Ministry would set up a committee to investigate the cause of the building collapse and determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The Permanent Secretary was accompanied by directors of the Ministry during the condolence visit.
