The Jigawa Senior Secondary Education Board has opened procurement bids for vehicles and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) equipment to enhance service delivery and digital learning in schools across the state.
Speaking during the exercise in Dutse on Monday, the Executive Chairman of the board, Prof. Abubakar Sabo, listed the items to be procured, including eight official vehicles, 30 laptops, 50 printers, and 100 desktops.
He stated that the procurement aims to address operational and logistical challenges facing the board while also promoting digital literacy in the education sector.
Sabo explained that the exercise is a continuation of the board’s procurement process and was advertised in two national newspapers on March 30.
He identified the newspapers as Standard Times and Daily Times, noting that the process adheres to due process requirements and global best practices.
He added that the initiative aligns with the Jigawa Government’s commitment to improving education quality through adequate support and infrastructure.
“The bidding process fully complies with procurement regulations to ensure transparency and accountability.
I urge all participating companies to be guided by the fear of Allah, fairness, and professional ethics throughout the process,” he said.
Sabo commended Gov. Umar Namadi for his ongoing support of the education sector and urged successful contractors to ensure quality delivery.
“Those who emerge as successful bidders are expected to supply the specified models and high-quality equipment, as the state will not compromise standards in any respect,” he emphasized.
Representatives from the Due Process Office, Ministry of Justice, State Audit, and Civil Society Organizations, who monitored the exercise, praised the board for conducting what they described as a transparent process.
They urged prospective contractors to strictly follow procurement guidelines and execute projects according to specifications and timelines.
Abdullahi Hudu, the Permanent Member of the board, expressed appreciation to the state government for its support and commended the leadership style of the executive chairman, describing it as inclusive and results-oriented.
Some participating companies expressed satisfaction with the process and pledged to deliver quality work if awarded the contracts.
