Dr. Bashir Bolarinwa has reaffirmed his commitment to addressing Kwara’s security challenges if elected as State Governor in 2027.
Bolarinwa, a leading governorship aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC), stated this in Abuja on Saturday while submitting his Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms to APC officials.
The submission marks a significant step, officially kicking off his campaign for Kwara’s governorship.
He emphasized that restoring peace, enhancing public safety, and protecting lives and property are central to his vision for a safer, more prosperous Kwara.
“It is my wish, by the grace of God, to improve the quality of life, health, and well-being of our people,” he said. “Most importantly, insecurity has taken over the entire state—Kwara North, Kwara South, where I come from—and many areas are now deserted. There are humanitarian crises caused by bandit attacks. This issue must be tackled head-on, and it will be a top priority,” he added.
Bolarinwa, who declared his intention to run for governor on April 28, 2026, in Ilorin, also stressed the importance of social services in improving citizens’ lives. He pledged to prioritize access to quality health, education, social welfare, and other essential public services.
According to him, governance should translate into tangible benefits for citizens, especially in areas affecting their daily lives and well-being.
He said his administration would be guided by a people-centered vision focused on expanding opportunities and delivering responsive services to uplift communities across the state.
“All necessary measures to improve life—especially in agriculture, education, and health—will be taken,” he assured. “I promise Kwara that things will get better.”
Expressing confidence, Bolarinwa said, “I am not just contesting; I pray and wish to succeed the incumbent governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, who has done and continues to do good work for the state.”
He was accompanied by executives of the Egbe Omo Igbomina FCT Chapter when submitting his forms to APC’s National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Mohammed Argungu.
His career is marked by hands-on governance and policy engagement, beginning as a Councillor, then two-term Chairman of Lagos Mainland Local Government, and later as a two-term Member of the House of Representatives.
