President Bola Tinubu has been named Chief Host of the 2026 World Public Relations Forum, scheduled for November 15–21 in Abuja.
Prof. Justin Green, President of the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management, announced this in a statement via NIPR Director of Public Relations, Stanley Ogadigo.
Zambia’s President Hakainde Hichilema will deliver the keynote address at the forum, themed “Responsible Communication, the Voice of the World.”
Green said the participation of two African presidents demonstrates the continent’s readiness to host the “Biggest, Brightest and Boldest” global PR event.
He also confirmed that UN Under-Secretary-General for Global Communication, Melissa Fleming, and INTERPOL Director of Communication, Samuel Heath, will attend as speakers during the week-long event.
“The theme, Responsible Communication, the Voice of the World, aligns with our ongoing push to include Responsible Communication as the 18th Sustainable Development Goal (SDG). We are delighted that the forum in Nigeria will extensively focus on this critical subject,” Green said.
He added that the Global Alliance would provide full support to Nigeria to host the event, which will bring together representatives from over 126 countries to promote Responsible Communication.
Dr. Ike Neliaku, President of NIPR, said the Institute is collaborating closely with the African Public Relations Association (APRA) and other PR bodies across Africa to ensure the continent delivers a world-class forum.
