The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) says it has again successfully transmitted an enhanced peak generation of 5,801.60Mega Watts (MW) as at 9:30 p.m. March 1.
TCN’s General Manager Public Affairs, Mrs Ndidi Mbah said this in a statement in Abuja on Tuesday.
Mbah said the latest peak generation was transmitted at a frequency of 50.09Hz.
She said the value of the transmission was higher than 5,615.40MW recorded on Feb. 28, by 186.20MW.
Mbah said on Feb. 26, TCN equally transmitted a new Maximum Daily Energy of 116,891.14 MegaWatt Hour (MWH), which was higher than the previous value of 116,121.42MWH achieved on Feb. 25; 769.72MWH.
She said the Acting Managing Director of TCN, Mr Sule Abdulaziz, restated that the consistent increase in the peak generation was due to synergy among power sector participants.
Abdulaziz said the increase in peak generation was also achieved through concerted efforts by TCN to ensure that all generated power was wheeled to distribution load centers nationwide.
“TCN will continue to work hard to complete ongoing projects and undertake new ones as it strives to put in place a robust transmission grid.
“Despite challenges posed by vandalism and insecurity, all hands must be on deck in the fight to safeguard electricity installations nationwide,” he said.
