Professor of pediatric radiology to deliver OOU’s 125th inaugural lecture

A Professor of Pediatric Radiology in the Faculty of Clinical Sciences, Prof. Ayodeji Anike Olatunji is to deliver the 125th Inaugural Lecture of the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye in Ogun State on Tuesday 10th March 2026.

Prof. Olatunji will speak on “Beyond Shadows: Imaging Science and the Radiologist’s Quest To Reveal The Unseen” at the OGD Lecture Theatre of the Main Campus in Ago Iwoye at 2pm.

She had studied at the Crowther Memorial College, Lokoja before obtaining her MBBS Degree at the University of Lagos and did her specialization both at the citadel of Radiology learning, University College Hospital (UCH) under the late icon, Prof. S. B. Lagundoye as well as University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital.

Prof Olatunji wrote her Post Graduate Dissertation on “Ultra Sonographic Appearances of the Spleen in Sickle Cell Anaemia Patients + Book Case Reports in May 1994 and co-authored a Publication on “Roles of Pain Abdominal X-Ray in the Differential Diagnosis of Common Acute Abdominal Conditions in Children at Olabisi Onabanjo Teaching Hospital, Sagamu Ogun State of Nigeria. (Open Journal of Radiology Vol. 13 No 3, August 1, 2023.

Now a Fellow of the Medical College of Radiology, Prof. Olatunji On 1st October 2019 she made a publication on “Elderly Patients With Trauma: Radiologists Perspective of Burden of Disease In a Nigerian Sub-Urban Tertiary Hospital”. (Journal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research, India. 2007-2026.).

Married to a retired Professor of Haematology, Prof Olusola Olatunji of Egbaland, Ayodeji’s marriage was consummated at an Anglican Churchin Ekitiland in 1983 and they are blessed with Children and grandchildren.

According to the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Administration and Chairman Academic Ceremonies Committee of the OOU, Prof. O. O. Olubomehin the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Ayodeji Agboola will preside over the inaugural Lecture. Prof. Olubomehin pleaded with guests to be seated by 1330 hours to have a serene academic atmosphere.
