Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger State has forwarded a list of 30 nominees to the State House of Assembly for confirmation as Commissioners and members of the State Executive Council.
In a letter dated November 12, 2025, and addressed to the Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, Governor Bago stated that the nominations were made in line with Section 192(2) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).

He explained that the nominees were selected after due consultations and in recognition of their proven integrity, competence, and dedication to the development of Niger State.
“I therefore request that the Honourable House kindly give the nominations the usual prompt consideration and confirmation,” the Governor wrote.
The list, which covers the three senatorial zones, includes Hadizat Idris Kuta representing Shiroro Local Government Area, among other appointees drawn from across the 25 LGAs of the state.
Other nominees include Dr. Hadiza Asabe Mohammed (Bida), Barr. Mohammed Bello Agwara (Agwara), Abdullahi Shuaibu Maje (Suleja), Barr. Maurice Magaji (Munya), and Prof. Muhammad Yakubu Abuna (Magama).
The list also features Muhammed Qasim Danjuma (Agaie), Abdulrazaq Muazu (Jakada, Borgu), Umar Rabe Sanda (Bosso), Jacob Baba Yisa (Edati), and Ahmed Ibrahim Inga (Rafi), among others.
The nominees, when confirmed, will constitute the second Executive Council under Governor Bago’s administration, which is focused on actualizing his “New Niger” vision anchored on agricultural transformation, infrastructure development, and good governance.
