Kano State Government and Guinea Bissau have agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation, focusing on agriculture, education, culture, tourism, and human capital development.
A high-level delegation from Kano, led by NNPP Chairman Dr. Ajuji Ahmed, representing Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, met with Guinea Bissau’s President, Umaro Sissoco Embaló, in Bissau on Thursday, according to the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature.
Both parties pledged to collaborate on job creation, youth empowerment, and skills acquisition in areas such as GSM repairs, fish farming, and the cashew and mango value chains.

Kano State also offered 50 scholarships for citizens of Guinea Bissau to study English and Hausa at state-owned tertiary institutions, aiming to promote cultural and linguistic exchange.
President Embaló praised Governor Yusuf’s leadership, announced plans for a return visit to Kano, and directed his Defence Minister to lead a delegation to explore further partnership opportunities.
Governor Yusuf reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fostering international partnerships that create opportunities in human capital development, trade, and culture for the people of Kano.
The delegation included Kano commissioners and other senior officials.
