The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Minna Branch, has inaugurated its newly elected officials, reaffirming its commitment to making a significant impact within Niger State.

The swearing-in ceremony took place during the NSE Minna Branch’s Annual General Meeting on Saturday in Minna, the state capital.

Engr. Dr. Muhammad Yerima, who begins the second year of his tenure as Chairman of the NSE in Niger State, commended the outgoing officials for their dedication to advancing the society’s goals.

He encouraged the newly elected officials to sustain the momentum, highlighting the chapter’s role in maintaining regulatory oversight to ensure professional standards are upheld.

“I commend the relentless efforts of the Branch’s Prevention, Investigation, and Failure Analysis Committee (PIFAC) and the state Engineering Regulation Monitoring (ERM) Committee. Their work has significantly influenced regulatory authorities to enforce the engagement of qualified engineers in various projects, leading to the correction of faulty structures and, in some cases, their demolition or remodeling,” Yerima stated.

He emphasized the society’s commitment to the professional development of its members and announced that eight members from the state branch had been elevated to the prestigious fellowship grade of the Nigerian Society of Engineers.

Yerima further pledged that his administration would provide exemplary stewardship to members and contribute to the economic growth of Niger State by leveraging its natural resources, particularly in agriculture, solid minerals, and water resources.

The inauguration, held at the CPES Hall of the Federal University of Technology, Minna, saw the re-election of Engr. Amina Saidu as Vice Chairman, Engr. Ndagi Nmaman as General Secretary, Engr. Abdulrahman Bala as Financial Secretary, Engr. Abubakar Kau as Technical Secretary, Engr. Mohammed Umar as Assistant Technical Secretary, Engr. Ayuba Jatau as Treasurer, Engr. Saadia Suleiman as Public Relations Officer, and Engr. Muhammad Abdullahi as Ex-Officio II.
