The Senate, on Wednesday, appointed Sen. Tahir Munguno as Chief Whip after sacking Sen. Ali Ndume.
The upper chamber of the National Assembly (NASS), in a voice vote, took the unanimous resolution to effect the replacement, after it received a letter of complaint against the unbecoming utterances of the chief whip, Sen. Ali Ndume from the National Headquarters of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was read by the President of the Senate, Sen. Godswill Akpabio.

Ndume was not only stripped of his position as Chief Whip, but also as the committee he co-chairs as Vice Chairman, Committee on Appropriations.
He has been moved to Chair the Senate Committee on Tourism.
