Melaye tops list of 20 most-followed Nigerian politicians on Instagram [SEE LIST]

Senator Dino Melaye has been ranked top in the list of the most-followed Nigerian politicians on the photo-sharing app, Instagram.

The social networking app allows users to upload media that can be edited with filters, organised by hashtags, and associated with a location via geographical tagging.

Melaye, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State last year, leads Nigerian politicians on Instagram with 2.8 million followers as of Tuesday.

Melaye regularly posts photos of his luxury cars and exotic lifestyle and comes off as an Instagram celebrity to many on the platform.

Sharing data of the most-followed Nigerian politicians on Instagram, the former Kogi West senator wrote proudly, “Dino Melaye top on politicians followed on Instagram.”

President Bola Tinubu comes second with 1.1 million followers while former Vice President Prof Yemi Osinbajo has 1 million followers.

Others are former presidential candidate Peter Obi with 993,000 followers, and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu with 864,000.
