Operatives of the Sokoto Police Command have arrested a man suspected to have killed a woman in a hotel room in Sokoto.

According to the Commissioner of Police, Ali Kaigama, “The manager of Ifeoma Hotel located at the Old Airport Area, Sokoto, Mr. John reported the incident to the State Police Command about the killing of a woman identified as Balkisu Garba in their facility by an unidentified guest.”

The manager informed that Police that an unidentified guest took the woman, Balkisu Garba of Gidan Dare behind Jumu’at Mosque, into the facility, and was slaughtered in a hotel room by the same man.

Kaigama said that on receipt of the report from the hotel manager, the Divisional Police Officer in charge of the area swiftly swung into action.

“As a result, the suspect forgot a bag containing receipts of payment and the mobile phone SIM cards.

“The items led to the arrest of the suspect,” the Police Commissioner told journalists.
