Ecuadorian President Guillermo Lasso confirmed on Wednesday the killing of presidential candidate Fernando Villavicencio, and announced that a meeting of the country’s security cabinet would be held within minutes.

The Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) and its presidential candidate in the Feb. 25 presidential election on Friday in Abuja, closed their case at the Presidential Election Petition Court, (PEPC).
