The meeting held at the Emir’s Palace in Rano aimed to solicit his esteemed support in promoting the uptake of PBR Cowpea, a genetically modified crop designed to withstand the devastating impact of pests and enhance agricultural productivity in Nigeria.

The Partnership is coordinated by Michigan State University and involves various partners including the National Root Crop Research Institute, Umudike, the African Agricultural Technology Foundation (AATF) and the International Potato Center (CIP). “The use of modern technology has increased productivity in many countries in the world. With technology, smallholder farmers are guaranteed quality harvests and increased yields.
