Zedcrest Wealth, a digital wealth management and investment firm, on Tuesday launched a new user-friendly learning platform, Zedcrest Academy, aimed at democratizing investment knowledge and strengthening financial literacy among Nigerians.
The Group Managing Director of Zedcrest Wealth, Mr Adedayo Amzat, announced the initiative during the unveiling ceremony in Lagos.
Amzat said the platform was designed to empower citizens — from the financially excluded to seasoned professionals — by helping them better manage their personal and business finances. He noted that inadequate financial knowledge remained a major cause of business failures in the country.
“A very simple pronouncement by the Central Bank can be the end of a big industry. So, even though you are an expert in a field, you cannot escape being an expert in finance,” he said.
He explained that Zedcrest Academy was developed over 15 months of intensive research and ideation, with the goal of building financial expertise from foundational to advanced levels in a discreet, accessible and learner-friendly environment.
Beyond financial education, Amzat said Zedcrest Wealth is focused on mobilizing capital by expanding savings and investment options starting from as low as N1,000, thereby catering to a broad audience.
He expressed confidence that empowering individuals with financial knowledge would help them become more confident investors and strengthen the firm’s relationship with the public.
Speaking on financial inclusion, Amzat identified Nigeria’s low household savings-to-GDP ratio as a key obstacle to infrastructure development and economic growth. He said the long-term vision of Zedcrest Wealth is to democratize investment opportunities and increase national prosperity.
“The more money we invest, the more we can now do bigger infrastructure in Nigeria,” he said.
Also highlighting the platform’s features, the Product Marketing Lead at Zedcrest Wealth, Mr Adetayo Jinadu, said Zedcrest Academy integrates learning, saving and investing within a single digital ecosystem.
“We built the platform to combine education with real-world action. You can learn in the academy, save and invest — all within the same app,” he said, adding that the approach eliminates the need for users to switch between multiple applications.
Product Marketing Analyst, Ifeoluwakiishi Akintayo, said the platform incorporates interactive tools such as quizzes and a points-based reward system, redeemable for everyday services including transportation, food and entertainment on platforms like Uber, Chowdeck and Circuits.
He said the company’s ultimate goal is to help users become financially knowledgeable and confident in their decision-making.
