The National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR) has entered a strategic partnership with Circuits, a virtual cinema and audiovisual distribution platform, to promote digital transformation in Nigeria’s hospitality and tourism sector.
The Director-General of NIHOTOUR, Dr. Abisoye Fagade, announced this on Tuesday during a visit by Circuits’ top management to his office in Abuja.
Dr. Fagade said the partnership would expand access to capacity development programmes through digital platforms.
“This partnership with Circuits marks a major leap in hospitality capacity development in Nigeria.
The collaboration will enable millions of Nigerians working in hotels, restaurants, tour operations, travel agencies, catering services, and related sectors to access professional training and industry content online,” he said.
He noted that the initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritizes innovation, youth empowerment, and economic growth.
“By embracing digital dissemination, we are extending NIHOTOUR’s mandate to millions of Nigerians, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to compete globally.
This partnership will also feature digital culinary showcases highlighting Nigeria’s diverse food culture and gastronomy.
It will promote Nigerian cuisine globally and strengthen the country’s reputation as a centre of hospitality excellence,” Fagade added.
The Chief Operating Officer of Circuits, Mrs. Imade Bibowei-Osuobeni, said the collaboration would merge education, entertainment, and technology to promote indigenous culinary excellence and professional training.
“Circuits is built to connect African creativity with global audiences.
Partnering with NIHOTOUR allows us to redefine how hospitality expertise and culinary skills are shared and celebrated,” she said.
NIHOTOUR, established under the NIHOTOUR Act, is the Federal Government agency responsible for regulating, licensing, training, and developing manpower in Nigeria’s hospitality, travel, and tourism industries.
