New Horizons Nigeria, a leading Information and Communication Technology (ICT) training and certification organization, has been named the Best ICT Training and Certification Organization in Africa.
The company’s Managing Director, Mr. Timothy Akano, announced the recognition during a media briefing in Lagos on Wednesday, noting that this latest honour marks the firm’s 307th national, continental, and international award.
Akano expressed deep appreciation to CompTIA, the awarding body, describing the recognition as both a celebration of past achievements and a renewed call to service.
He reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to addressing technology skills gaps across Africa, particularly in underserved communities.
“This award solidifies our position as Africa’s most awarded ICT technical training company,” Akano said.
He noted that New Horizons Nigeria trains and certifies over 100,000 students annually across Nigerian universities and secondary schools.
In its effort to promote inclusive education and reduce financial barriers, the company offers annual scholarships ranging from 50 to 100 per cent to more than 20,000 students.
Akano added that the organisation also prioritises members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) through targeted training initiatives.
As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, New Horizons Nigeria recently adopted the Federal School of the Blind in Oshodi, Lagos. The company equipped the school’s computer laboratory with essential ICT tools and provided a certified trainer for visually impaired students — with the trainer’s salary fully funded by New Horizons.
In addition, the organisation awarded full scholarships to about 100 visually impaired students, empowering them with digital skills for economic independence.
Between 2023 and 2025, New Horizons Nigeria also granted 100 per cent scholarships to over 1,000 students of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) to study Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Digital Marketing.
Mr. Jason Moss, CompTIA’s Senior Vice President for EMEA, commended New Horizons for consistently exceeding expectations in training quality, sales performance, and customer satisfaction.
Moss noted that CompTIA’s certification portfolio includes globally respected credentials such as Security+ (S+), Hardware+ (A+), and Network+ (N+).
He added that New Horizons Nigeria was selected for the award based on key performance indicators, including revenue generation, training quality, certification delivery standards, and student satisfaction ratings.
