The Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) has appointed its new national leaders and encouraged them to be creative and stay focused.
The new leaders include the President, Mr. Muhammad Aliyu-Sirajo, and the Deputy President, Mr. Charles Onyeukwu.
At the event held at the NCS National Office in Lagos on Thursday, the former President of the Institute of Software Practitioners of Nigeria, Mr. Bimbo Abioye, said being innovative would help the organization grow stronger.
He advised the new leaders to stay focused and come up with ideas, plans, and projects that will improve Nigeria’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector.
Abioye also encouraged local computer companies to grow their businesses, compete well with foreign companies, and take over the Nigerian market.
Another former NCS President, Mr. Ezichi Samuel, advised the new leaders to learn from past leaders so they can continue smoothly.
In his speech, the new President, Mr. Muhammad Aliyu-Sirajo, said the new team would work together for the good of the society and the country.
He added that following professional rules strictly would improve how the organization operates.
Aliyu-Sirajo also said the new leaders would focus on innovation and growth in Nigeria’s ICT sector.
“Working together, we can help improve the economy,” he said.
He thanked the former leaders for their hard work in building a strong NCS.
