The National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting digital governance across Nigeria.
NASRDA Director-General, Dr. Matthew Adepoju, stated this after the agency received the Best Federal Ministry, Department and Agency (MDA) Digital Governance Award at the Nigeria GovTech Gala and Awards held in Abuja on Friday.
Reporters reports that Dr. Adepoju also received the Distinguished GovTech Trailblazer Award in recognition of his leadership in advancing digital transformation within the agency.
Represented by Dr. Felix Ale, NASRDA’s Director of Media and Corporate Communications, Adepoju said Nigerians were beginning to appreciate the growing role of space science and technology in national development.
“This award is a recognition of excellence and hard work. The Director-General has introduced several innovations and activities that have repositioned the agency, with digital governance being a key part of that transformation.
“It is an honor to be recognized, and this motivates us to do even more,” he said.
Adepoju noted that the agency had implemented several initiatives to streamline its processes and strengthen Nigeria’s space science ecosystem.
In her remarks, Mrs. Esuabana Nko-Asanye, Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology, congratulated NASRDA on the awards, noting that the ministry remained committed to achieving the Federal Government’s digital transformation agenda.
The event, organized by the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR), honored MDAs, private organizations, stakeholders, and individuals who have demonstrated excellence in digital governance and public service innovation.
