A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta state, James Onwordi, has said that the Director of Strategic Communications for the Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign Council, Dele Momodu is a social media politician without any electoral value, and should not compare himself to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
Momodu had, in an interview on ChannelsTV’s Political Paradigm programme on Tuesday, described Wike as an unruly person who wants to destroy the PDP.
According to him, he would have expelled Wike from the party if he had the power because he worked against the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and supported President Bola Tinubu.
“I don’t have the power; if I had power, I would have fired him (Wike) long ago.
“Such an unruly person who wants to destroy our party? One individual cannot hold everybody to ransom.
“If we fought the military, we fought the military in this country, Tinubu was part of those who fought the military in this country, and then you will now allow a civilian dictatorship?” Momodu said in the interview.
Reacting, Onwordi said unlike Wike who has electoral value and a large number of followers in the party and across the country, Momodu joined the PDP months ago for selfish ambition.
“Dele Momodu should stop talking carelessly about Wike. He can’t achieve what Wike has achieved over the years.
“His opinion is not needed in the party because he is not a true member of the PDP considering how ineffective he has been to the PDP. Wike has millions of followers in the PDP, unlike Dele Momodu, who has no electoral value.
“Dele lost his unit, ward, and local government to APC during the last presidential election.
“A man who contested a presidential election and failed woefully shouldn’t be talking when an impactful leader of the party like Wike is talking.
“We love Wike, and we will continue to love Wike for being truthful at all times.”
