ASHENEWS reports that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Sokoto State has debunked reports that some commissioners serving under Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal have decamped to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
A statement issued by the Sokoto State Commissioner of Information, Akibu Dalhatu described the report published in some media outlets as fake.
Dalhatu, who also serves as the Spokesperson of the Sokoto State PDP Campaign Council said that all its members remain committed to the success of the party in the 2023 elections.
“The report that 11 Sokoto state Commissioners had decamped from PDP to APC is nothing but absurd claims cheap propaganda meant to settle political scores.
“To put the record straight, no serving Commissioner under the Governorship of Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, CFR, Mutawallen Sokoto, Director General, PDP Presidential Campaign Council has any intention to decamp to the embattled APC whose many stalwarts have since parted ways with their party and are now campaigning vigorously for the landslide success of the PDP,” he said.
