ASHENEWS reports that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Tureta, and Bodinga local government areas on Thursday, received a total of 12,463 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) into the party.
The party during its 2023 campaign in Tureta headquarters of Tureta local government received 4,883 people who defected from the APC.
In Bodinga local government, the PDP also received 7,580 people into the party.
The Sokoto state governor, Aminu Tambuwal told supporters of the party that the PDP, if elected into power would tackle challenges of insecurity, which the people have also faced in recent times.
He called on the people to elect candidates of the PDP at all levels.
The governorship candidate, Sa’idu Umar told supporters that if voted into office, his administration would consolidate the gains of democracy recorded by Governor Aminu Tambuwal.
In Bodinga, Tambuwal assured supporters that Saidu Umar of elected would sustain projects, including education, health, agriculture as well as youth and women empowerment programmes.
