The Sokoto state chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, on Sunday, inaugurated the state and 23 local government caretaker committees.

Speaking at the event, the leader of the party, Senator Aliyu Wamakko felicitated with the new leaders.

Wamakko, who represents Sokoto North Senatorial District, also said that their reappointment on caretaker basis was as a result of their track records of unblemished leadership.

According to him, Nigerians were aware that the people of the state have remained supportive to the APC, even as he assured of sustained efforts to make the party grow from strength to strength, at all levels.

He again appreciated the continuous support of the cross section of the people of the state to APC.

“I am once again thanking clerics, traders, traditional rulers, women and youths groups, in this direction.”

Also speaking, the Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Maigari Dingyadi lauded the leadership of the party for providing efficient and credible leadership.

He also commended Wamakko for his commitment and selfless service to the people of the state and the party.

“Without him, without his support and encouragement, we would not have recorded the tremendous achievements we have made.

“We will remain resolute and firm, and will never despair by God’s grace. APC will clinch the governorship position in 2023.”

The Minister also maintained that APC remained the party to beat in the country.

Also, the Executive Secretary of Police Trust Fund, PTF, Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu said that there was no party in the state, but, the APC.

He further stated that members of the party had remained comfortable and there was no despair in it.

The caretaker chairman, Alhaji Isa Achida said that it has remained united and intact.

He explained that the party had passed a vote of confidence in the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari for his dogged and sustained efforts, to better the lives of Nigerians.

Achida averred that Buhari has been executing various projects, in spite of daunting difficulties.

He also commended the Mai Mala Buni-led National Caretaker leadership for its giant strides

The event was attended by the party National and State Assembly, NASS, members.

Also in attendance were former deputy governor, Alhaji Chiso Abdullahi, who is also a National Commissioner, National Population Commission, NPC, representing Sokoto state, as well as Alhaji Aminu Tafida, National Commissioner, Federal Character Commission, FCC.
