The Senate has reopened the office of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, signalling her imminent return to legislative duties.
Her office, located in Room 205 at the Senate wing, had been sealed following her suspension in March 2025 over alleged breach of Senate Standing Orders during a dispute concerning her seat.
The unsealing of the office comes just weeks before the National Assembly (NASS) resumes plenary on October 7, 2025, and is widely interpreted as a move to restore the Kogi Central lawmaker to her position as her six-month suspension draws to a close.
Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan had challenged the suspension in court, with critics arguing that the decision denied her constituents proper representation.
With her office now reopened, attention shifts to the floor of the Senate, where her full reinstatement is expected once plenary resumes.
