The Federal High Court in Lagos has sentenced cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye, Aka Bobrisky, to six months in jail with no option of fine.
Justice Abimbola Awogboro handed down the judgement on Idris Okuneye Friday April 12.
The controversial cross-dresser had earlier pleaded guilty to the charge of naira abuse.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on Thursday, April 4, filed six-count of money laundering and abuse of naira against him.
On Friday, April 5, EFCC arraigned Bobrisky in court on a six-count charge ranging from Abuse of the Naira and Money laundering.

The court, however, dismissed the money laundering charges but convicted him for Naira Abuse after he confessed to the crime.
Bobrisky was arrested at 3pm at his residence located at Pinnock Estate in Lagos, on Wednesday, April 3, 2024.
The spokesperson of the EFCC, Dele Oyewale had confirmed that he was arrested for currency mutilation and abuse of the Naira.
“Bobrisky is with us. He was arrested last night in Lagos, and he is at our Lagos command. We arrested him for alleged abuse of naira notes, spraying of nara notes, and currency mutilation, among others.
“We are very serious about restoring the dignity of the naira. Though our investigation is still ongoing, but he will definitely be charged to court soon,” the spokesperson had said.
When aarraigned before the court, Bobrisky was reported to have confessed and pleaded with the court on the premise that he was ignorant of the law.
Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju (born 31 August 1991), predominantly known as Bobrisky, is a Nigerian transgender woman and LGBT personality.
She is also known for her presence on the social media apps Snapchat, TikTok and Instagram.
She has gone viral on TikTok for creating the “bobrisky” dance in 2021.
