The Iran Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has said his country’s attacks against Israel will be “limited” and for self-defense.

Amir-Abdollahian said this in a meeting with foreign ambassadors in Tehran on Sunday.

“Attacking military bases in the Zionist entity is a legitimate defense guaranteed by the United Nations Charter.

“We affirm Iran’s determination to firmly defend the country’s sovereignty, unity, and national interests in the face of any aggression.

“We will not hesitate to take further defensive measures to preserve our interests in the face of any aggression.

“Our resort to defensive measures in exercising the right to self-defence proves our responsible approach to regional security.”

The Minister warned that, “If American military bases in Jordan continue to participate in the Zionist aggression against Iran and its allies, we will strike them.”

Meanwhile, ASHENEWS reports that at the end of the G7 meeting, leaders of the nations condemned Iran’s retaliatory attack and accused it of further stepping “toward the destabilization of the region”, adding that Tehran “risks provoking an uncontrollable regional escalation”.

Earlier, the Iranian President, Ebrahim Raisi said, “The defensive action carried out by the armed forces is a natural right to legitimate defense of our country in response to the zionist aggression on our interests.

“Last night’s combined operations carry a message of strength and power to the Islamic nation and a message of fear and humiliation to the enemies of humanity.

“Iran has used all regional and international capabilities in recent months to warn the international community of the ineffectiveness of the Security Council,” he said.

Raisi added that the attack on Israel was in the defense of Iran’s sovereignty and national interests.

“Yesterday’s operation comes in the context of defending Iran’s sovereignty and national interests, punishing the enemies, and enhancing regional security. The Iranian action was smart and calculated, and the Iranian drones and missiles targeted zionist military bases.
