The International Monetary Fund (IMF) says it has lowered Senegal’s 2022 Gross Domestic Product (GDP) estimate to 4 per cent from 4.7 per cent.
IMF’s mission chief Edward Gemayel said this on Tuesday.
Next year’s growth is expected to accelerate, however, it would come in lower than expected, Gemayel said, without giving a precise forecast.
He said in November that the West African country’s economy was expected to grow 8.3 per cent in 2023 on the back of a temporary boost from oil and gas production.
