The Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital (UDUTH), Sokoto, has announced the appointment of a new management team for its College of Nursing Sciences, effective June 2, 2025.
According to a statement by the Head of the hospital’s Public Affairs Unit, Mansur Wadata, the appointments are for an initial period of two years and are renewable for a second and final term, subject to satisfactory performance.
This development follows the voluntary retirement of the former Provost, Mrs. Grace Isiaku Amadu.
The newly appointed management team comprises:
- Garba Usman – Provost. He is a registered Nurse and holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Nursing Education from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria
- Mrs. Temi Tope Adeosun – Deputy Provost and Head, Department of Midwifery. She is a registered Nurse/Midwife and holds a Degree in Nursing from the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).
- Mrs. Suwaiba Sani – Head, Department of Nursing. She is a Registered Nurse and holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Community Nursing from Maryam Abacha American University of Niger (MAUN), Maradi. She was also Assistant Director, Nursing Services (ADNL).
The statement added that the new appointees possess a wealth of experience in both nursing practice and academic instruction, spanning over a decade.
“The Hospital Management is confident that their leadership will further enhance the College’s academic and professional excellence,” the statement noted.
