Three students from secondary schools in Lagos State won a quiz competition. The contest was organized for students with disabilities by the Lagos State Office for Disability Affairs, along with the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education.
A statement shared said the event was held at the LASODA office in Alausa, Ikeja. The theme of the event was “Celebrating the Unique Qualities of Children with Disabilities and Strengthening their Capabilities.”
The statement explained that the event was created to help students with disabilities in Lagos State do well in school, build confidence, and feel included. It also encouraged parents to take part in their children’s education.
After a tough competition, Wesley School 2 for the Deaf in Surulere came first. Wesley School 1 for the Deaf, also in Surulere, came second. The third place went to Ojuwoye Community School Inclusive Unit in Mushin.
One of the best parts of the day was giving gifts and awards to the winners to celebrate their achievements. The event showed LASODA’s commitment to building an inclusive society where everyone can succeed, no matter their abilities.
It also gave students with disabilities a chance to show their academic talents and compete fairly with others.
