The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Kaduna State branch, has rated the State Governor, Senator Uba Sani high over the approval of the Consolidated Medical Salary Structure (CONMESS) for doctors under the payroll of the State.
The Association said that the approval for the 100 per cent implemention of the 2024 CONMESS in the State is commendable.
NMA made the commendations in a statement issued and signed by the state Chairman, Dr. Hassan Bala Salihu at the end of its Annual General Meeting held in Kaduna between 11th and 13th September, 2025.
While applauding the state government for its strategic policies which aims at strengthening the health sector, the association explained that the state government has upgraded several general hospitals across the state.
According to NMA in its statement, the upgrading in the health sector include the construction of two oxygen plants, reconstruction of numerous Primary Health Centres (PHCs), the completion and commissioning of the 300-bed capacity hospital at Millennium City, among other several health projects across the state.
NMA noted that, in terms of welfare, Kaduna is the first in the country to pay the 2025 Medical Residency Training Fund (MRTF) to resident doctors.
The Association also commended the improvement in hazard allowance for healthcare workers in the state.
This is just as the NMA emphasized that the measures reflect a forward-looking strategy to sustain healthcare manpower within Kaduna state.
It added that the giant strides in the health sector will not only enhance motivations, but will also minimize both internal and external “Japa syndrome.”
