Kaduna state government has strengthened its private sector collaboration as the Commissioner for Health, Umma Ahmad received a delegation from the Saudi Arabia–based Muslim World League Headquarters on cardiac hospital project.
The delegation, led by Dr. Abdurrahman Huwarai, briefed the Commissioner on the purpose of their visit, which was to assess progress on the ongoing construction of a state-of-the-art cardiac hospital and to reinforce the organisation’s partnership with the Kaduna State Government.
Dr. Huwarai highlighted the scope of services the centre will provide, noting that the facility—now 60% equipped—will position Kaduna State as a leading hub for advanced cardiac services in Nigeria. Upon completion, the centre will offer a wide range of life-saving cardiac interventions aimed at reducing the burden of heart-related diseases across the state and beyond.
In her remarks, the Commissioner expressed appreciation for the initiative and reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to supporting partnerships that expand access to quality healthcare. She stressed that, the Governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani remains deeply committed to the wellbeing of all residents, particularly vulnerable, unserved, and underserved populations.
She further noted that the Cardiac Centre, once operational, will complement the ongoing reforms and infrastructural improvements in the state’s health sector. She described the collaboration as a welcome development that aligns with Uba Sani’s vision of strengthening specialized healthcare services and improving health outcomes for citizens.
She assured the delegation of the Ministry’s readiness to provide all necessary support for the timely completion and smooth take-off of the Cardiac Centre. To ensure proper technical guidance and due diligence in the establishment of the hospital, the Commissioner immediately constituted a technical advisory team to guide the process.
