An aspirant for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket in the August 8, 2026, Osun governorship election, Asiwaju Munirudeen Oyebamiji, has donated N2 million to the Joint National Association of Persons With Disabilities (JONAPWD), Ile-Ife chapter.
Oyebamiji, Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), made the donation on Thursday during the association’s anniversary celebration held at Oba Okunade Sijuwade Memorial City Hall, Enuwa, Ile-Ife.
He was represented at the event by Mr. Timothy Owoeye, a former Speaker of the Osun House of Assembly, and promised to pay particular attention to the needs of persons living with disabilities in the state if elected governor.
Speaking at the event, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, commended JONAPWD for their contributions to society. Represented by Mr. Ade Olaoluwa, the monarch pledged to continue supporting the association.
Also addressing the members, Elijah Fagbule of the Sacred Cherubim and Seraphim Church, Oke-Atan, Ile-Ife, encouraged them to remain positive and steadfast in their faith. Represented by Mr. Paul Olanrewaju, he urged members to continue having strong and abiding faith in God.
Similarly, Canon Leye Onitiju of Obawole’s Chapel, Anglican Communion, Bishop’s Court, Parakin, Ile-Ife, assured the association that God has not forgotten persons with disabilities, noting that they continue to excel in various spheres of life.
