Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has urged women across the country to prioritizes their health as part of activities marking the 2025 Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

October is globally recognized as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, dedicated to increasing awareness about the disease and raising funds for research into its causes, prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and cure.

In a statement issued on Monday in Abuja, Mrs. Tinubu, who is the Chairperson of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) — a charitable organization — appealed to women to undergo regular medical checkups and embrace healthy lifestyles.

“As women, mothers, sisters, and daughters, our health must remain a priority. Early detection saves lives. Regular self-examinations and timely medical screenings are key in the fight against breast cancer,” she said.

She further encouraged women to support one another and raise awareness about the disease throughout the month.

“This month, let us raise awareness, support survivors, and encourage one another to take proactive steps for better health. Let us work together to stay healthy. Happy Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2025,” the First Lady stated.
