Eight members of the Batch B National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, at the Will orientation camp in Bauchi state, on Thursday, were confirmed to have tested positive to COVID-19.
The Executive Chairman State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr Rilwanu Mohammad has directed the surveillance team to carryout test on all the 600 corps members currently in camp, while those who tested positive are in isolation.
A statement from the Agency also indicates that mass vaccination against yellow fever, would be carried out on all corps members in the orientation camp located in Ganjuwa local government area, where there is an outbreak of the disease.
As of Thursday, two fatalities were recorded bringing the total number of those who have died as a result of yellow fever to 10.
The agency has activated its four pillars of Rapid response that include surveillance/contact tracing, case management, environmental management and risk Communication
The Agency decried the delay in getting test results from the NCDC National reference laboratory in Abuja.
