The Attahiru Bafarawa Foundation, through its Giving Back Initiative, on Saturday, commenced the distribution of cash incentives to patients across hospitals in Sokoto State.

The Chairman of the Foundation’s Steering Committee, Muhammad Mai Doki, while speaking shortly after launching the distribution exercise at Maryam Abacha Women and Children Hospital in Sokoto explained that the initiative is aimed at easing the financial burden on patients, especially during the month of Ramadan.

“Apart from the medical outreach and other programs we conducted across the 23 local government areas of Sokoto recently, we are also extending support to patients in hospitals,” said Mai Doki.

He further stated, “We are here today to provide cash incentives to hospitalized patients.”

Mai Doki noted that the initiative which would cover all hospitals across the 23 local government areas of Sokoto State will provide patients with cash donations depending on their needs.

“Every hospital in Sokoto where patients are receiving treatment will receive cash support, just as we have done here,” he said.

Mai Doki further commended the efforts of the hospital staff and prayed for the quick recovery of the patients.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the Foundation for the support and prayed for Allah’s blessings upon the founder, Attahiru Bafarawa.

This online platform reports that a total of 80 patients benefited from the initiative at Maryam Abacha Women and Children Hospital.

In another development, the Foundation had earlier on the same day donated food items to the Sokoto State Command of the National Correctional Service to support inmates during the month of Ramadan.

Presenting the items at the state correctional center, Mai Doki stated that the donation aimed to alleviate the hardship faced by inmates, particularly during Ramadan.

He noted, “This gesture complements similar efforts by the state government, the Sultanate Council, and other well-meaning individuals in improving the welfare of inmates.”

Mai Doki prayed for Allah’s blessings upon all those who extend a helping hand to the less privileged and encouraged affluent individuals to emulate such acts of generosity.

Receiving the items on behalf of the Comptroller General of the National Correctional Service, the State Controller, CSC Zayyanu Jega, expressed gratitude for the donation.

He explained that this was the second time the service had received food items during Ramadan and commended the former Sokoto State governor for his consistent support.

This online platform reports that the donated items included 20 bags of rice, 120 packs of spaghetti, and six jerrycans of vegetable oil, which will be distributed among 1,605 inmates across five correctional centers in Sokoto, Bissalam, Gwadabawa, Tambuwal, and Wurno.
