Sokoto state university, SSU, has distanced the institution from an advertisement purporting that it is soliciting applications for recruitment exercise into various positions.
A statement by the Registrar, Amina Garba made available to ASHENEWS on Saturday, said the university was neither recruiting directly nor indirectly.
“The attention of the Management of Sokoto State University, Sokoto, has been drawn to false advertisements being circulated online, soliciting applications for a purported recruitment exercise.
“It is to that effect, the Management wishes to notify the general public that the University is not recruiting for any position, either directly or through any proxy (ie agents),” the statement reads.
The Registrar warned the general public to avoid falling victims of the false advert, which it described as scam.
“The general public is hereby warned to be cautious and vigilant to avoid falling victim to the plots of the unscrupulous elements, who are circulating the false recruitment notices, to deceive unsuspecting applicants.
“It should be further noted that the University has a standard of recruitment procedure that it strictly abide by.
“In view of the above, the University is hereby advising the general public to always seek accurate and credible information by visiting its website at www.ssu.edu.ng, its verified social media handles on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Linked In and YouTube or by visiting the Institution,” the statement further said.
