Senator Aliyu Wamakko has embarked on the construction of nine solar-powered boreholes for some communities in his constituency.
A statement by his spokesperson, Hassan Sanyinnawal made available to ASHENEWS on Thursday said seven of the projects were completed and the remaining two at various stages of completion.
The solar-powered boreholes were constructed in Gumbi, Dundaye and Wamakko towns, all in Wamakko local government area.
The contracts for the execution of the projects were awarded by Wamakko in his bid to alleviate the suffering of people of his constituents as well as further alleviate the perennial water scarcity in the benefiting communities.
Commenting on the projects, Buhari Jabbi commended Wamakko for the invaluable gesture, saying: “Water is really life.”
Similar projects had since been completed in Makerar Assada, Sabon Birni, Kalambaina, Dambuwa,and kofar Marke, all in Sokoto metropolis.
