Molarogbe Lukman Olamilekan of the Bayero University Kano (BUK), has emerged the overall winner of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN’s) ‘2023 National Quiz Competition’.
Olamilekan came first at the closing ceremony of the 25th annual conference of the CITN, with the theme, ‘Nigeria of the Future: Achieving Sustainable Development through Taxation’.
The chairman of the panel of judges, Prof. Mike Nwidobie, also announced Moyosoroluwa Dada of the University of Lagos as emerging second.
Similarly, Anthony Babatunde Peter of the Redeemers University came third; Toheeb Adebishinn of the University of Ilorin emerged forth, while the duo of Adekunle Elufisan of the Ibadan Polytechnic and Ashaolu Ayanfeoluwa of Landmark University were joint fifth position winners.
Prof. Nwidobie said that the first prize is N300,000; the second prize being N200,000; the third prize won N100,000 and the others were given N50,000 each.
The Chairman of the Students Affairs and Tertiary Education Relations Committee of CITN, Dr Titilayo Fowokan, whose committee organized the tax quiz competition, said that all contestants went home with desktop computers for their schools.
The cash for the star prize of N300,000 was presented to the winner during the gala night by the President of the Institute, Adesina Adedayo.
